U-M School for Environment and Sustainability associate professor Joshua Newell discusses a U-M study that “quantifies the air pollution that impacts Latinx communities in California due to beef production.” Focusing on Costco’s beef supply chain, the researchers explore the environmental impacts due to air pollution from beef production in the San Joaquin Valley. In this study, they tracked corporate supply chains, looking at pollution hotspots and offering key findings.
