Adolescents and young adults are at risk of death when experiencing advanced heart disease but rarely have a say in deciding how to proceed with treatment. While parents prefer that the decision-making processes in these instances remain between doctor and parent, according to a study conducted by the University of Michigan, many young adults want to be more active in this process.
