The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was recently awarded to two researchers for their discovery of the hepatitis C virus. Anna Lok, MD, discusses her research on the hepatitis B virus, before hepatitis C even existed. Treatment for hepatitis C is even more important today due to high rates of opioid use that can cause the virus.
