“The day of salvation for the Ugandan Africans.” President Amin exclaims during the speech announcing the Economic War, a war supposed to be of liberation. Three strenuous months followed for the “Ugandan Asian” (Indians and Pakistani people) as they tried to finalize affairs to leave the country due to Amin’s decree.
