Day 1: Arrive in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
After settling into your hotel, venture up the iconic CN Tower for a special three-course welcome dinner at 360 Restaurant. Indulge in exceptional Canadian cuisine and hospitality as you admire the revolving view of Toronto more than 1,150 feet below.

Day 2: Niagara Falls / Toronto / Board VIA Rail’s The Canadian
Join your Orbridge Expedition Leader for a specially-guided tour of awe-inspiring Niagara Falls and the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake for a lunch at your leisure, often called the prettiest town in Ontario. Afterward, explore the picturesque 19th century village of Niagara-on-the-Lake before joining a relaxing wine tasting at a local winery. At Niagara Falls, enjoy a thrilling Hornblower boat ride to the base of the falls to feel the thundering roar of nature’s power. Maybe partake in an optional helicopter ride to see the falls from above and revel in their beauty.

Enjoy a three-course dinner at the top of the falls while the sunsets, then transfer to Union Station to board The Canadian. Celebrate your departure from Toronto with a champagne toast and settle into your cozy Prestige Class cabin.

Day 3: VIA Rail’s The Canadian
Wake to the steady sound of the rails, and open your blinds to greet the morning’s lovely panoramic views. While The Canadian travels across Ontario, venture into the dome car to embrace the constantly changing scenery—and capture the endless photo opportunities from inside the Prestige Park lounge and dome cars. Combine the passing views with equally outstanding cuisine in the train’s dining car, prepared by onboard chefs using specially sourced, local ingredients of the regions you will pass through.

Day 4: VIA Rail’s The Canadian / Winnipeg, Manitoba
Today offers scenes of boundless prairies as the train continues to Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers. There is just enough time for a leisurely stroll and then it’s all aboard for Saskatoon. Stop by one of the beautiful observation cars for a brief onboard presentation of the Canadian provinces, or visit the Prestige car for a wine tasting of some of Canada’s top-tier varietals.

Day 5: VIA Rail’s The Canadian / Edmonton / Jasper, Alberta
Today is your final day aboard the train, with brief stops in Edmonton, Jasper, and Kamloops. Admire the dramatic and ever-changing landscape as the train navigates the Canadian Rockies—rugged peaks, steep cliffs, and the extraordinary panoramic views they provide.

Day 6: Vancouver, British Columbia
This morning, savor a last leisurely breakfast onboard before arriving in Vancouver. After disembarkation, set out for a half-day guided city tour, including stops at Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown and Granville Island, where you’ll enjoy a special farewell lunch with your fellow travelers. The remainder of the day is yours to leisurely stroll around Vancouver, or perhaps indulge in the luxurious amenities at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

Day 7: Depart Vancouver
After breakfast, guests with flights departing during the suggested times take the complimentary transfer to Vancouver International Airport. (B)

Stephanie Riegle, Ph.D., serves as chief of staff for the Office of Enrollment Management. She has been with the office since its inception, and her responsibilities encompass operations, strategic planning, and organizational development. Prior to her current role, she worked in the Office of the Provost for nine years, most recently as the chief of staff, and before that as an assistant vice provost for academic and budgetary affairs. In addition to academic affairs, Riegle’s background includes work in both faculty affairs (at U-M) and student affairs (at the University of Georgia and the University of Minnesota).

Riegle came to U-M in 1999 as a doctoral student in the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education and earned her doctorate in 2004. She earned a bachelor's degree in zoology and master's degree in exercise science and physiology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
