Types of Trips

With more than 35 years of travel experience and feedback from our loyal voyagers, the Alumni Association has created a collection of travel opportunities designed to meet the varied needs and interests of U-M alumni. The True Blue Travel program offers trips in five distinct categories:

Lecture
A U-M professor with expertise specific to your trip will accompany your group (depending on enrollment) and offer two or three lectures during your journey. It’s a unique way to learn from the Leaders and Best and reinvigorate that sense of excitement from your Michigan days while you explore the world.

Cultural Connection
You’ll develop a connection to the region you’re visiting by meeting locals, participating in excursions led by knowledgeable guides and unpacking only once or twice. Depending on enrollment, an Alumni Association representative may accompany the group.

Exclusive Explorations
These departures are limited to just 25 U-M travelers and explore more remote areas of the world, requiring moderate to active levels of activity. They allow for spontaneous encounters and a degree of freedom and independence. Build on your common bond with U-M alumni during this exclusive vacation. Depending on enrollment, an Alumni Association representative may accompany the group.

Flexible Value
Enjoy the advantage of hassle-free group travel at a great price. These trips include flexible itineraries with fully guided optional excursions at an additional price. You choose the activities that interest you to build your perfect vacation. Depending on enrollment, an Alumni Association representative may accompany the group.

Family Adventure
Enjoy a stress-free family vacation with these departures. Share your U-M pride with your kids and grandkids by spending time together and sharing in the opportunities for fun and education. Depending on enrollment, an Alumni Association representative may accompany the group.
