The Alumni Association Travel Program organizes trips that allow alumni to learn, explore, and discover at a variety of different activities levels, while in the company of fellow U-M community members. These programs are designed for people who are in good health, have good mobility, and who are comfortable participating in physical activities.
Activity Rating Levels
To ascertain whether a program’s physical demands is right for you, each alumni trip and its related excursions have been rated as mildly active, moderately active or active. On some tours, travelers may choose to participate on excursions based on their own comfort level while other tours do not offer these options. These ratings are approximate and will vary from person to person depending on normal activity level.
- Mildly Active – Easy pace, little walking and stair climbing.
- Moderately Active – Faster pace, substantial distances covered, long walks, city walking tours over uneven walking surfaces, stair climbing and embarking and disembarking zodiac crafts.
- Active – Vigorous pace, frequent movements, extensive walking over uneven walking surfaces, hiking, stair climbing, embarking and disembarking zodiac crafts, and lack of handicap facilities available.
