Congratulations to the Michigan Wolverines, who are headed to the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana on Tuesday, January 3, where thousands of Michigan alumni, fans and friends will cheer on Head Coach Brady Hoke and the Michigan football team to victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Geaux Blue at the 2012 Sugar Bowl Block Party and Pep Rally on New Year’s Day!

The Michigan Wolverines are Sugar Bowl Bound and we’re going to get the party started early by cheering them on Cajun-style at the Official University of Michigan Block Party and Pep Rally on Sunday, January 1, at 4 p.m., outside of the Sheraton New Orleans, 500 Canal Street.

Come join fellow Michigan alumni, friends, fans and students at this high-energy FREE event, which will feature:

  • Head Coach Brady Hoke, Team Captains and Seniors
  • The Michigan Marching Band
  • The Michigan Cheer Team
  • Special Guests

2012 Allstate® Fan Fest (Allstate Sugar Bowl)

The Michigan Marching Band will play at the Allstate Fan Fest, located in the Jax Brewery parking lots off Decatur Street in the French Quarter.

2012 Official University of Michigan Sugar Bowl Tour

The Official University of Michigan Bowl Tours are designed exclusively for Wolverines, by Wolverines. Our tour packages, operated in partnership with Conlin Athletic Tours, include three nights’ accommodations at a deluxe hotel, private welcome party, complete game-day package including Sugar Bowl game ticket and pre-game tailgate party, custom souvenir package, Alumni Association hosts and hospitality desk and much more including optional round-trip charter air service between Detroit and New Orleans. In addition to all of this, you have the comfort and camaraderie of traveling with our extended Wolverine family!

2012 Sugar Bowl Game-Day Package

Designed exclusively for Alumni Association members who live in the New Orleans area or those who choose to make their own travel plans, our Game-Day package will include a ticket to the 2012 Sugar Bowl and a ticket to the Official University of Michigan Sugar Bowl Tailgate Party.

Game-Day packages are exclusively for members of the Alumni Association.

Game-Day Package Prices
(All Game-Day Packages include one Terrace Level 2012 Sugar Bowl game ticket and one Official University of Michigan Sugar Bowl Tailgate ticket. All Game-Day package prices include a $5 per ticket athletic department surcharge and a $5 Alumni Association processing fee.

2012 Official University of Michigan Sugar Bowl Tailgate Party

Located adjacent the The Superdome, the Hyatt Regency New Orleans will be the spot for the only Official University of Michigan Sugar Bowl Tailgate Party. Co-hosted with the Victors Club, our pre-game event will feature a full dinner buffet, cash bar, DJ, special guest appearances, give aways and plenty of maize and blue spirit.

Dinner menu to include: Beef sliders, hot dogs, blackened chicken tenders with creole relish, catfish fingers with tartar, Crawfish Monica pasta, green salad, red beans and rice and assorted desserts.

Non-member Adults: $55

U-M Students: $20

Tailgate tickets are no longer available for purchase online. A limited number will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from Sunday through Wednesday, January 1-3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Michigan Hospitality Desk at the Sheraton New Orleans, 500 Canal Street.

Q: Who can travel on the Official U-M Bowl Tour?

A: The Official U-M Bowl Tour is for Alumni Association members only. Not a member? Don’t worry, all U-M fans are eligible to join the Alumni Association. Click to join.

If you’re not a member already when you register for the Official U-M Bowl Tour, the annual membership dues will automatically be added to the cost of your travel package. If demand for the Official U-M Bowl Tour exceeds the number of spots available, then priority will go to those individuals who are already current Alumni Association members as of 12 p.m. ET the day the bowl selections are announced.

Q: I want to go on the bowl tour. What should I do?

A: Once we know what bowl tour we’ll be traveling to, complete an online application with our partner—Conlin Athletic Tours at www.michigansportstours.com.

You may also call Conlin Athletic Tours at 877.513.2320. The phones are staffed Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. ET.

All applications for the Official U-M Bowl Tour require your Alumni ID number. The number begins with at least three 0s or three 9s. You can locate your Alumni Association ID number in the following locations:

  • On your membership card
  • On the mailing panel of most Alumni Association mailings
  • In the yellow box on the mailing panel of Michigan Alumnus magazine
  • In the top part of the e-TrueBlue e-newsletter sent weekly to AAUM members

You can also get your Alumni ID number by contacting the Alumni Association Customer Relations Department at 800.847.4764 or m.alumni@umich.edu. Please note that the Alumni Association offices are open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. ET.

If you cannot find your Alumni ID number, you can still fill out an application, but we will verify Alumni Association membership. This may delay the processing of your application.

Q: Will I be able to get bowl game tickets through the Alumni Association?

A: The Alumni Association will sell a variety of bowl game tour packages, and all packages will include game tickets.

Q: Why should I travel on the tour?

A: The Alumni Association offers the Official University of Michigan Bowl Tour. Traveling with the Alumni Association provides the convenience, reputation and peace-of-mind needed to allow you to focus on enjoying yourself and cheering U-M onto a bowl game victory. The Alumni Association has years of experience offering athletic tours and is the only Official University of Michigan Bowl Tour operator.

Q: I will be traveling to the game on my own or live in the bowl game area, so in what Alumni Association events can I participate?

A: The Alumni Association will host a pre-game tailgate that is open to all U-M fans and friends. Tailgate tickets may be purchased online or by calling the Alumni Association at 800.847.4764. Although a limited number of tailgate tickets may be available on-site, we highly recommend you order your tickets in advance.

Q: I am part of the Victors Club and/or a season ticket holder. May I purchase my game tickets through the Office of Athletics?

A: Yes. Victors Club members and season ticket holders on our tour may choose to purchase bowl game tickets directly through the Athletic Department. To place an order with the Athletic Department, visit www.mgoblue.com or call 734.764.0247.
