International Alumni Student Recruitment

The Alumni Student Recruitment Program is looking to expand the number of international alumni volunteers participating in the program and the number of countries covered.

There are currently 35 international alumni student recruiters in 22 countries, including Australia, China, Pakistan, Italy and England. These alumni play an important role to prospective and admitted students in their country—providing guidance on what to expect and the campus culture, easing communications to help students get answers quickly to their questions, and addressing students concerns about moving to and living in the United States.

Volunteers also engage in the more traditional recruitment activities including promoting U-M in their community, attending college fairs to represent U-M, calling or emailing to congratulate admitted students, and sharing their alumni perspectives about U-M.

More international volunteers are needed, particularly in Canada, European countries (especially France) Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.
