The fear of not knowing where your next meal is coming from or if the food you have is nutritionally adequate for your child is real for many Americans. Nearly 34 million Americans, mostly women and children, experience food insecurities today. Tonyie Andrews-Johnson, director of Sparrow Hospital Women’s Services (as part of the Michigan Health System) discusses the impact food insecurity can have on women and children during pregnancy.
