U-M group offers help to unemployed alumni, March 12, 2009

The Alumni Association of the University of Michigan is offering free, one-year memberships for unemployed U-M alumni. The memberships, normally priced at $64, will be funded through a newly created Economic Hardship Fund. “In this economic environment, more and more alumni are looking to us to take advantage of the alumni network, our career services and discounts,” said Steve Grafton, association president and CEO. “It’s the right thing to do.” For information, call (800) 847-4764 or visit www.umalumni.com/economicresponse. The new site focuses on job postings, career counseling, short-term health benefits and other savings. Employed alumni can also learn how to help fellow Wolverines.
