The Alumni Association of the University of Michigan offers several ways for alumni to give back to the University of Michigan community. Becoming a mentor and participating in the Alumni NetWorks program is one easy way U-M alumni can share their life experiences and talents with current students and fellow alumni.
The Alumni Association is looking for mentors in all careers and industries.
Become a mentor through the Alumni NetWorks program using these easy steps.
1. Log in to inCircle using your University – assigned unique name and password.
2. Update your inCircle profile to include your contact information, employment history, and the About Me section to indicate that you can offer career advice.
3. Wait to hear from your potential mentees, or reach out to U-M alumni who have communicated through their inCircle profiles that they would like to get career advice.
4. Let us know about your success! Did you provide mentorship to U-M alumni/students; submit your success story.
Being a mentor can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and with Alumni NetWorks Mentor you control your level of involvement in the program. But remember – the more details you provide on your inCircle profile about yourself, career and industry, the more accurately the mentee is able to find a good mentor match.
For advice on structuring informational interviews with the mentees that contact you, review our Guidelines for Mentors.
We want to make mentoring as easy as possible! Please view our online inCircle guide for getting career advice.
