UM/MSU Career Event: “Job Search 2.0: Your Future Waits”

The University of Michigan and Michigan State University join forces to bring southeast Michigan job seekers the tools and resources they need to make powerful strides in finding employment in the state.
Attend this career event to gain skills that will allow you to:
- Leverage your networks on and offline
- Develop and understanding of where the jobs are right now
- Market yourself in a tough economy
- Guide your career success
Event Speakers:
Sally Schmall, MSW, University of Michigan Professor and Owner of Academy Coaching, will guide you through “Sell Yourself, Not Your Dignity” as she shares more than 14 years of experience in career coaching and recruitment. She will lead you in strategizing how to market yourself in this tough economy.
John Hill, director of Alumni Career Services, is charged with providing career services to 420,000 MSU alumni. John will enhance your understanding of leveraging your alumni network in “Taking Your Online Connections Offline For Career Success”. John runs the 10th largest official LinkedIn alumni group with nearly 15,000 MSU alumni members.
Philip D. Gardner, Ph.D., Director of the Collegiate Employment Research Institute of Michigan State University, will share his insight into “Where The Jobs Are” in today’s market. His presentation will include current economic conditions and where to find employment.
There is no cost to attend this event, but registration is required.
