Gary Heitman presently serves as business development director for Wolverine Technical Staffing in Ann Arbor. He is still very active in the Career Services area as a talent connector, teacher and mentor. Gary is responsible for developing and maintaining high-level customer relationships and looking for positions for SE Michigan job-seekers. He also has been featured in UM’s Alumnus Magazine for his LinkedIn mentoring with UM grads and offers advice and expertise to his network on a daily basis.
After 30 years in information technology, Gary retired from Ford Motor Company in 2007. He had progressed through all areas of IT beginning as a programmer. In his last position, he was responsible for providing transparency and cost-cutting the Global IT Budget of over $3 billion. He was consistently recognized by the company for his mentoring work, and he began the first Explorers Post for Detroit youths with an interest in IT and computers. Prior to joining Ford Motor in 1977, Gary worked as an IT supervisor for Uniroyal Tire Company.
