When we asked alumni to send in their campus love stories for a feature article in the Winter 2011 issue of Michigan Alumnus Magazine, four of the messages we received were far different from the others. Written by widows, they told of both love and loss. At first, this material seemed too personal to ask them to explore and perhaps too heavy a topic for our listeners. But their willingness to share was so uplifting that we decided to take a chance.
