For UM-Dearborn Students
The Alumni Association offers scholarships to highly qualified, admitted students who can enhance diversity at the University of Michigan in terms of race, gender, ethnicity or national origin. The Alumni Association seeks to provide all alumni and future alumni with positive University experiences, including scholarships and the improvement of campus culture, which includes the diversity initiative.
About the Scholarship
An Alumni Association LEAD Scholarship recipient on the UM-Dearborn campus will receive up to $8,000 per year (toward in-state tuition) or $9,000 per year (toward out-of-state tuition) renewable for a total of four years. To be considered for a LEAD Scholarship award, admitted students must:
- Authorize consideration for scholarships on their UM-Dearborn application
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Enroll full time
- Undergraduate status
- Not be a current recipient of the Chancellor’s Scholarship or the Opportunity Scholarship
- Meritorious with a GPA of at least 3.7, ACT scores of at least 27 or SAT scores of at least 590 verbal and 630 math
- Preference will be given to students who can enhance diversity in terms of race, gender, color, ethnicity or national origin
To continue receiving the Alumni Association LEAD Scholarship in their second through fourth years of study, students must maintain good academic standing defined as a cumulative U-M GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Early applications are more likely to be considered, as the number of scholarships is limited.
