Career Enhancement Series Event — San Francisco

Innovation is creativity with a job to do
Learn to be innovative and supercharge your career

John Emmerling, '60, discovered his potential for creative innovation while a U-M student. Instead of taking a $1 per hour food service job, he began writing greeting cards for Hallmark and continued on to a successful career in advertising. Today he is an "innovational speaker," a frequent guest columnist for Advertising Age and the author of the successful book "It Only Takes One: How to Create the Right Idea—And Then Make It Happen."

Join fellow alumni as Emmerling discusses his "seven pegs of innovation" and how you can apply them to any career and to your life.

You'll also have opportunities to:

  • Build relationships that will help you advance professionally and personally
  • Learn the latest workplace trends and discuss key topics
  • Make valuable career connections with fellow alumni
