Board of Directors/Alumni Leadership Council

The board of directors and the Alumni Leadership Council of the Alumni Association are committed to supporting the goals of the University of Michigan, keeping alumni connected to each other and the University, and preparing our future Leaders and Best to succeed in today’s global and competitive economy.

The board of directors comprises 22 U-M alumni who are dedicated to the University and the mission of the Alumni Association. The Alumni Leadership Council supports the board and obtains guidance from approximately 100 U-M alumni and students. The board’s priorities include:

  • Providing support to the Alumni Association staff —The board of directors provides insight and direction to the Association staff as they manage the daily operations of this dynamic organization.
  • Being knowledgeable advocates for the University —Legislative advocacy, philanthropy and active service in local communities are just a few of the ways the board works to be a valuable partner to the University.
  • Ensuring a diverse campus communityU-M has a long tradition of diversity, which is key to maintaining a vibrant campus life. The board is working to develop innovative ways to attract and retain a diverse community of faculty, staff and students.

While these are just a few of the leadership’s priorities, they are constantly working to ensure the University of Michigan maintains its standard of excellence, both today and in the future.
