How many people were responsible for planning this program and about how much time did it require?

Initially, the program involved the efforts of four or five alumni who wanted to field a softball team to play in the Capitol Alumni Network League. The primary drivers were the sports director, the softball coach plus a cadre of assistants and members who wanted to play.

Between 10-12 hours per week were expended during the initial program set up. Now, administrative time for the coach and assistants is two or three hours per week, not including practices and games.

How much did this program cost the club? The club donates between $100-$200 per season to buy softballs and replace bats and worn equipment.
How much did the club charge participants? The club team charges each player about $20 to cover the expenses related to team shirts, game refreshments and a softball party at the end of the season.
What "sold" this program to members (what was the highlight)?

The "Wolverine Spirit"

The competition, playing other alumni clubs, camaraderie, playing with old friends and making new ones. And, it's an outdoor activity that is inexpensive.

How many people attended?Between 30-40 actively participate during the season - with a good core of 20 players.
Is there additional information you would like to share?Need a manager/coach who is firm but fair and is able to ensure the game is both fun and competitive while not neglecting some of the players.
