Affiliate Group Criteria

The Affiliate Relations program of the Alumni Association requires that affiliate groups meet the following criteria:

• Significant tie to the University of Michigan
• Large enough population of alumni who are able and willing to sustain the group
• Volunteers who are willing to assist our office in identifying alumni in the Alumni Association’s database
• Mission statement and goals
• Bylaws and a leadership succession plan
• Willingness to apply to become a formal and AAUM board approved affiliate group
• Willingness to abide by affiliate relations program guidelines to remain a formal affiliate group
• Commitment to remaining connected to both students on campus and alumni while working with our office to help maintain those relations
